Allisen Rogers | Ex-Investment Banker
By Margaret Pilarski, Thursday, April 1, 2010Allisen had a loft in Tribeca, made day trips to London and was one of “maybe 20 women on the trading floor of about a thousand people total.” But after ten years in the financial behemoths of Chicago, New York and Sydney, she met the right man at the right time: “I think we were both at a point in our respective careers where we were looking for something else. It was definitely an awakening where we both decided it would be nice to work for ourselves.” In 2001, they found their first inn in California and then after five years, the pair (along with a little one and another on the way) moved eastward to the Foley House Inn. “At the end of the day, regardless of how some thought I was crazy to leave Wall Street, move across the country and buy an inn, I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Life is too short to say ‘woulda, shoulda, coulda.’”
