The Goddess Issue

It's time to venerate our inner goddesses, but that doesn't mean we're all going to (necessarily) dance around a New Age bonfire wearing castoffs from Stevie Nicks' garage sale. True Goddess worship is about celebrating the strength and beauty of the feminine not in an abstract way but incarnated in real, live humans. Hence the five women we've profiled this month that draw on the power of ancient archetypes to enrich their own and others' lives. (Personally, I could never choose just one goddess with whom to align myself‹one minute I might be feeling the Aphrodite love, but cut me off on the Truman Parkway and I'll channel ferocious Kali, wielding my middle finger like it could set fire to your bumper.) From Our Lady de Guadalupe imagery to the kabbalistic essence of the shekhina, the Divine Feminine is everywhere if you know where to look (hint: try the mirror.)
