Dr. Tassie Hargrove says "relax!"

Hygea, the goddess of health, would surely endorse Tassie's prescription of proper nutrition, moderate exercise and relaxation to keep ourselves in top form. But this wife and mother knows it's not always easy: "Women are taught that everyone else's needs come first. Women need to put themselves on their list." Skeptics might shrug off the idea that taking a walk or getting a pedicure is vital to your well-being, but it's exactly what this doctor orders. "Take time every day to do something relaxing. Even if it's only thirty minutes, it makes a difference." Malnutrition, stress and the toxicity of our environment can deplete the body's systems, though Tassie says "constant tasking" is the main source of the burnout she sees in many of her female patients. The first step in her approach healing requires her patients to make themselves a priority. "Health doesn't come from a pill. We have to be willing to commit to a healthier lifestyle."
