One would think two decades of playing bars six nights a week would wear on a man, but it doesn’t appear to have aged this Savannah musician one bit. “I can’t really call it work,” he drawls. “I’d say the driving is the hardest part.”
He tours regularly, and if you’re any kind of night owl at all, you’ve grooved with him ‘til the wee hours (though the band makes plenty of daytime rounds at festivals, fundraisers and the occasional fishing show on ESPN.)
Recently single, he admits he’s not cut out for bachelorhood. “The only reason I’ve been able to get this far is because I had a good woman around me.”
But life goes on: “It’s
a good gig to play the blues – by the time you’re singing about something sad
you’re already over it.” Funk it up with him on March 26 at the Savannah Music
Festival.
What do you like best about reading
skirt!?: I get to find out what and how women think – and it always
surprises me.
How about wearing a skirt? I kinda
feel like Joe Namath in that pantyhose commercial from the 70s.
