Since making an unexpected career move to become an ordained minister in 2005, this former punk rock bassist, stand-up comic and West Coast transplant estimates that he’s officiated at over a thousand beach weddings and commitment ceremonies.“I get to be part of a moment that’s so positive and hopeful. I can’t think of any other job that offers that kind of satisfaction.”
His business partner is his fourth-generation islander wife, Jennifer, and together they run Tybee Island Weddings, raise their two children and experiment with the new sport of paddleboarding. “I married a Tybee girl, and this community has just embraced me. We do what we can to give back.”
Even if you’re already hitched, you and your beloved can still experience Steve’s services this Valentine’s Day as part of “Tie the Knot on Tybee,” a group wedding and vow renewal to benefit local heart health-related charities.
