By jessicaleigh, Wednesday, July 1, 2009My work: What could be better than helping others discover books they love?
My passion: Finding and reading great books and avoiding bad ones.
I love: My precious daughter even more than books and that’s a lot!
My favorite possession: A photograph I took of my grandmother’s hands.
My best bargain find: A rare photography book on the Russian ballet for $2 at a thrift sale.
My hometown: Opelika, AL, the idyllic smallish southern town.
I’m thinking about: How to squeeze 48 hours of work into 24.
Words I live by: What time is it?
I can’t live without: Leopold’s chocolate ice cream.
I am most proud of: The thanks I get from customers.
What keeps me awake at night: Two little feet padding into my room.
One thing I never want to do again: Play dumb.
I am guilty of: Wanting to play hooky and watch movies all day.
Right now I’m reading: Ten things at once.
The food I could eat every day: Sushi, sushi, sushi.
If I were a superheroine I would be: Sexual Equality Woman - in tasteful tights, of course.
The most important thing I ever lost: My passport in El Salvador in the 80s, gulp!
My best friend says I am: Independent, intelligent, nurturing (but why didn’t she say funny?!)
I wish I’d known: (what do you know now that you wish you’d known when you were younger?)
I’d like to learn to: Fly a plane.
Something most people don’t know about me: I speak German and Spanish.
My first job: Life guarding and teaching swim lessons.
Whose diary would you most like to read? Barack Obama’s.
What do you fear the most? Going blind; where am I going to find someone to read to me?
Early bird or night owl?: Both.
Favorite color and why?: Blue because if I am sandwiched between a blue sky and sea water I’m happy.
